Another World had their 2nd Annual music festival nestled in the valley of Woodward, Pa. The owners, Eric and Jill wanted to save this beautiful farmland. So they did. With the combination of their love for music and the land to do it, they created Another World Music Festival. Family and friends came together to help make this all happen. The word must have gotten out because the Festival more than doubled in attendance. There was a wide variety of music genres to please all including originals and covers! People of all ages attended.
When you go there you won’t just hear the music but you will see all the effort they put into the details and love for this Festival. The barn was transformed into such a beautiful place where the bands were able to mingle, eat and drink. Basically used as a Green Room. It was absolutely gorgeous.
There was plenty of room for camping with designated areas for bonfires. They even put in showers for those camping. As you walked around the grounds the people were friendly and inviting. There were various vendors which included alcohol, merchandise, food trucks and stands with some interesting choices.
Another World had two stages and approximately 39 bands that were out of state, regional and locally. The stages were far enough apart that they didn’t interfere with the other stage. The sound quality was spot on. As I talked to others I kept hearing about Donna The Buffalo and Gunpoets. As soon as each of these bands performed I could see why. The front of the stage got more packed with dancing and just being carefree to the music. Donna The Buffalos are a Folk /Rock band while Gunpoets were a Hip-Hop band. Dirty Mae was another band that caught my attention. While listening to them the singer gave off a theatrical feel. She was very entertaining to watch. Where else are you going to experience this variety?
I got to hear one of the local bands called, 91 Stitches. If you like the 90’s vibe then they are a must see. I heard about this band earlier this year and checked them out several times. They never disappoint. Some of the other local bands were Ted and The HiFi’s, The Narrows, The Pennsoulvanias, The Jaded Lips, Chris Bell and the list goes on. I wish I could mention every band but you can check out the Another World Facebook page or website to see all the bands. What an experience to be exposed to so many different genres in one weekend. I discover so many new bands, styles of music and friends. I feel like I found a family. Will I go again…Absolutely! See you next year!
