Editor’s Ramblings – December 2025

Hello music lovers—Merry Christmas!!  I can’t believe I just typed that. By now we’re all recovering from the turkey overdose and jumping headlong into the most wonderful time of the year. As I type this, Missy is frantically plugging in strings of lights to see how many work to decorate the tree. I’m secretly hoping she’ll have all the lights on by the time I’m done—so no rush here.

It’s the perfect time of year to shop local, with PA having many, many options. Remember, if we don’t support local shops, one day there won’t be any—and you’ll be stuck in a world of small photos of gear far away that you don’t even know how it plays or feels. That’s why music shops are so great: they put the instrument in your hands and allow you to feel and hear what you’re buying. We all know no two instruments are really alike. To find the best, you have to shop around—find what you like.
