Rachel Rocks, Josh Noll, and Robin Noll

Welcome back, PA and beyond! It’s a beautiful spring day here at the shop, and we are tip-typing our way to another great issue packed full of things to do in and around the state. Not only will you find some of the best upcoming music and events in the area, but also a glimpse into what happened last month—capturing the history of the PA music scene one month at a time. That’s what we do.You never know what band you’ll find in these pages that could be the next big thing. Halestorm started out as a small-town band and promoted themselves in the pages of this magazine for many years. It’s awesome seeing them progress to the level of superstardom. Check out the amazing images in this issue from Chris Rider Photography in his article on page 14. We are very thankful for Chris and the work he does for the paper. He had a tough month but still pulled through for us, as always. Thank you, Chris—you ROCK! Here’s some of what’s hot for June: Reverb in Reading, PA, has Rebirth Fest 2026 on the 20th, featuring 15 bands. It’s an all-ages show with music by Dysentery, The Crimson Armada, Monochromatic Black, A Bloodbath In Boston, The Green Leaves, Desolation, Iron Gate, Primarch, PathWeChoose, Surrounded In Static, Pile Of Knives, Unwithered, Paralyzer, Meathook Massacre, and Ametropia. With that lineup, it’s safe to say it’s going to be a heavy-metal, head-banging, mosh-pit kind of day. Doors open at noon, with music starting at 1 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. The Allen Theatre is bringing in more and more shows by the minute. In June, they have “Shadows of the Night – The Pat Benatar Experience” on the 6th, followed by “La’Grange: Tribute to ZZ Top” on the 20th and The Paul Columbo Group with some contemporary jazz on the 28th. A lot is happening at the Allen Theatre and Salamander Cafe, with comedians, community discussions, and a bunch of great music. If you haven’t been down, please go check them out. They offer something for just about everyone. Pappy T’s in Hamburg, PA, has been supporting local live music for over 20 years and, like our friends over at Sherman’s Creek Inn, has a NO COVER EVER! policy for bands. If that’s something you appreciate—and I know we all do—then get down to Pappy T’s (or the Creek) and check it out. This month, Pappy T’s is featuring Vaughn Hummel on the 5th, The Classic Souls Band on the 6th, and One on the 13th—and no, this is not a Metallica tribute. One is a duo where “She Sings, He Plays.” They perform a variety of classic sing-along hits and some songs that might surprise you. Get out there and check them out. On the 19th, it’s Andrew Bowman, followed by a Pappy T’s favorite, The Blue Cadillacs, on the 20th. Finishing out the month are Vince Rollins, Barn Lights, and the legendary Terry Strongheart. Once again, Pappy’s has you covered during the week, with Open Mic moving back to Thursdays for June. Well, that’s it for this month. There’s so much more happening around the area—I just don’t have enough room or time to write about it all. Check out the schedules in this issue and make plans now!! If you want to get in on the fun, hit me up at joshnoll@pamusician. net for rates and sizes. Yes, everyone, we do have to make money somehow. It’s a struggle, but we try to make it as affordable as possible for local musicians and venues to advertise and so we can continue capturing music history month after month. Thank you all for the support.
