Editor’s Ramblings – March 2025

Wow, welcome back to another issue! This month, we’ve got another action-packed month of music. Spring is starting to peek around the corner and really can’t come soon enough around here. The ice has been stacking up, and I’m really getting tired of ice skating around the property. It feels like Disney on Ice just to make it from the shop to the house. Let’s hope for a warmer March and some sunshine to go along with it.

Another month starts out on a sad note as our national writer, Eric Hoffman’s father, passed away earlier this month. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Eric and his family during this difficult time. Please hug a loved one—you never know how short life is until it’s too late.

Onto some new advertisers! We love new advertisers! The first one is Bristle and Board. No, this is not a band but a creative workshop hosted by Jennifer Auxt. It’s time to wake up that creative spirit! Did you ever want to paint something cool but didn’t know where to start? Or maybe you painted in the past but lost interest? Need a fun birthday party idea? Jen offers instructor-led workshops designed to help you create beautiful images and have some fun while doing it. She hosts paint parties at local pubs around the area and offers all kinds of different themed workshops, from holiday-themed to “paint your partner” workshops. Some of her upcoming events include a paint party at The Pour House on March 13th featuring a shamrock on canvas (think shamrocks and leprechauns), and on March 25th, it’s “Paris in Spring” at the Copper Pub (a sweet painting of the Eiffel Tower). The list goes on and on—she has a full calendar of creative events, so go check out her Facebook page and give a class a shot. You can find her at facebook.com/bristleandboardcreativeworkshop.

Next up is another Auxt: Chris Auxt Guitar Lessons. Yes, half of “Hank the Buffalo” (seems I can’t go a month without a buffalo mention), Chris Auxt is offering guitar and bass lessons, both acoustic and electric, based out of Lemoyne, PA. From beginner to advanced lessons, Chris can help you out. He is now accepting new students, so give him a call or text at 717-557-4814, shoot him an email at chrisauxtmusic@gmail.com, or check him out at facebook.com/ChrisAuxtMusic. Call now, and maybe you too will find the buffalo!

Last but not least is “Ragged Grace,” featuring Rachel Thomas on vocals, guitar, and keys, along with Jeremy Chubb on guitar and Slade Heller on percussion (another familiar name). Ragged Grace plays the music you love to hear, music you may have forgotten about, and some you’ve never heard. Rachel has a cut-off country girl style and signature shoulder shimmy that is sure to brighten up your evening. Her infectious way of singing and her style are a very big part of Ragged Grace. She not only focuses on the chords and lyrics but the connection with the crowd. They have a full schedule of events, including March 8th at the Hershey Italian Lodge, March 9th at Flinchy’s, and March 28th at The Ridge Run Tavern. For a full list of shows, check them out at facebook.com/raggedgracemusic or go to their website at raggedgrace.com.

Well, that’s it for this month! It’s raining cats and dogs, so it looks like spring is here! See you next month after the thaw, and if you would like to join in on the fun, give me a call or text at 717-636-4203 or email joshnoll@pamusician.net. Ta-ta for now, and see you on the flip side Pennsylvania!
