Question for the readers, have you ever heard of “The Doyle”? Well if you haven’t that’s about to change. The Doyle Hotel in Duncannon has been around forever, this is not an exaggeration. It’s an old building, full of history, from river travelers in the early 1900’s, to trail hikers in the 80’s to present, this building has seen it all. “The Doyle” was always the spot Dad would stop if we were heading through Duncannon. The Hotel became “The Doyle” (so the story goes) in 1944 after Jim “Doc” Doyle won $444,444.44 in the Irish Lottery. Doyle owned the hotel into the 1990’s. The years were hard on the building and she required some love and passion to bring her back to life. Fast forward to 2022 and The Doyle Hotel is once again OPEN with a revamped building, including a sports bar area, event ballroom available to rent with recently renovated rooms to stay in after your long journey on the “Trail”. “The Doyle” is also a new go to spot for some great food and live music. They have some great talent coming up including Dave Gates, Acoustic Moose, Colin Alverez Duo, Derek Henry Acoustic, Nate Myers & the Aces, Matt Jameson, the Martini Bros. and more. Just a short drive from Harrisburg the Doyle Hotel is the place to be. Check out the ad on page 8 for the full line up live music and all the details.

Don’t forget Reverb in Reading is having Machine Head on the 3rd with Less Than Jake on the 4th. Followed by the big December blowout on the 17th for the Keystone Holiday Jam! featuring TERROR, Agnostic Front, Life Of Agony, Strife, Wisdom in Chains, Shattered Realm, Death Before Dishonor, the list goes on and on. It’s an ALL DAY, ALL AGES show starting at Noon. DON”T MISS THIS SHOW! Check out the ad on page two for more details and more bands then you can shake a stocking at. This show will certainly leave you with the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny Fuking Kaye.
